Mystic Tan: Tips and Tricks from the Experts!

There are many things in life where an expert tip makes all the difference in the world... like tips on how to get the perfect complexion, how to do the perfect push-up for sculpted arms and how to master the mystic tan for a perfect bronzed glow every time.

We asked our studio managers to give their tips and tricks on what secrets they use to makes their mystic tan perfect each time and here they are:

Emily, Studio Manager at Bearden in Knoxville, Tn gives her best kept secret...

"I always put a touch of barrier cream on my nose. When my color develops, my nose is slightly lighter which makes my cheek bones stand out... A look that every girl loves!"

Amanda, Studio Manager at our Powell, Tn store shares the way she gets the perfect hue of bronze...

"I dont put barrier cream on my hands or feet and as soon as I get out of the mystic and get dressed I run my hands under water then take that wet paper towel that I dried my hands with and wipe my feet off. I have found this gives me a better color. I also exfoliate and shave before I mystic. And I always try to leave it on as long as possible before showering."

Bobbi, Studio Manager at Middlebrook in Knoxville, Tn uses this trick every time...

"I don't wait the full 4 - 6 hours to wash my hands. Washing them about 2 hours after gives me perfect results!"

Crystal, Studio Manager in Chattanooga thinks you should try this next spray tan...

"Don't lock your knees. It helps the solution get in the fine lines around the knee cap, preventing white lines."

Andrea, Studio Manager in Lenoir City thinks imitation is the most sincere form of spray tan flattery! 

"I move like the girl in the mystic tan video because it gives me more even coverage. I might look a little silly, but it gives me such a pretty tan!"

Barbi, Area Manager of our Kentucky studios has "nailed" the perfect mystic technique!

"Using nail savers, which we have in our studios, is a great way to protect your cuticles!"

Finally...here is a little tip from me to you!

"Do your spray tan session in the evening when you have nothing planned for the rest of the night. It is the perfect excuse to veg out on the couch and relax. The Mystic Tan will continue to develop darker and darker for up to 24 hours if you let it. So kick back and relax and wake up in the morning with beautiful, bronzed color!"

Mystic Tan: Add-ins {Part deux}

We told you about mystic cartridges, now let's talk about some of the mystic add-ins!

The first add-in, and my favorite is the Mystic enhancer additive.

The mystic enhancer benefits your spray tan in two ways...

1. Guarantees you natural color. Sometimes what you eat throughout the day can actually throw off the color you receive from the spray tan (i.e. greasy foods, of course we aren't eating those though are we... HAH, JK, LOL! Had a big mac for lunch, diet starts Monday :) ) . 

The Enhancer will balance your PH levels (that's what has to be balanced to get perfect color) so that you get the perfected hue of bronze for your unique skin tone.

2. Develops your spray tan in half the time. If you are like me, you may have procrastinated doing the spray tan until last minute. So, if you come spray at 6pm on New Years Eve, then add the enhancer and your tan will be fully developed by 8pm, just in time to head out the door to your fabulous fiesta!
