Here at Fusion we are committed to providing you with the best possible, most state of the art equipment. We recently revamped our rewards club, and in-turn the names of our different levels of beds. For our most loyal clients, this simply means the name of your current bed has changed. But if you are formerly a level 4 or level 5 member, you now have access to EVERY single bed in the store at no extra cost. Here is a list of our new levels to clear up some confusion! Keep in mind, beds will vary by location!

Mystic Tan: Tips and Tricks from the Experts!

There are many things in life where an expert tip makes all the difference in the world... like tips on how to get the perfect complexion, how to do the perfect push-up for sculpted arms and how to master the mystic tan for a perfect bronzed glow every time.

We asked our studio managers to give their tips and tricks on what secrets they use to makes their mystic tan perfect each time and here they are:

Emily, Studio Manager at Bearden in Knoxville, Tn gives her best kept secret...

"I always put a touch of barrier cream on my nose. When my color develops, my nose is slightly lighter which makes my cheek bones stand out... A look that every girl loves!"

Amanda, Studio Manager at our Powell, Tn store shares the way she gets the perfect hue of bronze...

"I dont put barrier cream on my hands or feet and as soon as I get out of the mystic and get dressed I run my hands under water then take that wet paper towel that I dried my hands with and wipe my feet off. I have found this gives me a better color. I also exfoliate and shave before I mystic. And I always try to leave it on as long as possible before showering."

Bobbi, Studio Manager at Middlebrook in Knoxville, Tn uses this trick every time...

"I don't wait the full 4 - 6 hours to wash my hands. Washing them about 2 hours after gives me perfect results!"

Crystal, Studio Manager in Chattanooga thinks you should try this next spray tan...

"Don't lock your knees. It helps the solution get in the fine lines around the knee cap, preventing white lines."

Andrea, Studio Manager in Lenoir City thinks imitation is the most sincere form of spray tan flattery!

"I move like the girl in the mystic tan video because it gives me more even coverage. I might look a little silly, but it gives me such a pretty tan!"

Barbi, Area Manager of our Kentucky studios has "nailed" the perfect mystic technique!

"Using nail savers, which we have in our studios, is a great way to protect your cuticles!"

Finally...here is a little tip from me to you!

"Do your spray tan session in the evening when you have nothing planned for the rest of the night. It is the perfect excuse to veg out on the couch and relax. The Mystic Tan will continue to develop darker and darker for up to 24 hours if you let it. So kick back and relax and wake up in the morning with beautiful, bronzed color!"

Mystic Tan: Add-ins {Part deux}

We told you about mystic cartridges, now let's talk about some of the mystic add-ins!

The first add-in, and my favorite is the Mystic enhancer additive.

The mystic enhancer benefits your spray tan in two ways...

1. Guarantees you natural color. Sometimes what you eat throughout the day can actually throw off the color you receive from the spray tan (i.e. greasy foods, of course we aren't eating those though are we... HAH, JK, LOL! Had a big mac for lunch, diet starts Monday :) ) .

The Enhancer will balance your PH levels (that's what has to be balanced to get perfect color) so that you get the perfected hue of bronze for your unique skin tone.

2. Develops your spray tan in half the time. If you are like me, you may have procrastinated doing the spray tan until last minute. So, if you come spray at 6pm on New Years Eve, then add the enhancer and your tan will be fully developed by 8pm, just in time to head out the door to your fabulous fiesta!

The Perfect Mystic Tan {Part One}

Ahh it's almost New Years Eve. Hands down the most sparkly day of the year. Other than your birthday, I can't think of a single day of the year where you feel or look more glamourous! With that said we wanted to talk to y'all about the add-ins and cartridge choices for the Mystic Spray Tan. The Mystic is completely customizable to get you as dark as you want, as bronzed as you want or even just a simple dusting of glow, Mystic can help with that too!

Here is a how-to for all your mystic needs. We have broken this topic down into a couple of posts so you can ask any questions as we go along!

First step: Choose your cartridge:

1. Glow (available at select studios): Produces only a hint of color for a natural, healthy looking glow. Great for light to medium skin tones.

2. Light: Produces results 1-3 shades darker than your natural skin tone. Great for light/medium skin

3. Medium: Prodcues results 2-4 shades darker than your natural skin tone. Great for light/medium and dark skin tones

4. Dark: Produces results 3-5 shades darker than your natural skin tone. Great for medium/dark skin tones!

Before you come in to spray... shower, shave and exfoliate. It is also best to spray at night, then you have a great excuse to go veg out on the couch since you have to wait 4-6 hours to shower. It will actually to continue to develop for 24 hours if you let it. I am fairly fair skinned and I always spray with the dark cartridge and I get beautiful color. Don't be afraid to go a little darker this New Years Eve!

Top 5 Halloween Costumes for 2011

I have compiled a list of the top costumes for Halloween in 2011. These are in my opinion only, and all require a tan to pull them off. We are sneaky like that at Fusion, make you fall in love with a costume that requires a tan! Let us know if you will be wearing any of these, or disagree with me and think your costume is the best!

5. Pregnant Beyonce: I hate to break it to you but if you are white, you gotta have a tan to pull of the almighty Beyonce, otherwise, people will think you are channeling Lisa Minnelli from her role in Sex and the City 2!

Exercise: The Extreme Tingle Lotion

So if y'all are anything like me (and 97% of the women I know) Monday starts the diet all over again! Whether it has been months since I was on a diet or I just faltered over the weekend, I ALWAYS start a new diet program on Mondays.

Never in a million years could I start a diet/workout program on a Thursday! Are you kidding me? Start a new regimen right before my weekend? I think not!

So in honor of Monday (and officially the start of a health conscience workout week for me) here is a fun fact about how exercising can get you even darker in the tanning bed!

Have you ever tried a tingle lotion? What a tingle lotion does is increase your blood flow and bring oxygen to the surface of your skin, thus helping you get darker. Do tingle lotions actually get you darker than a regualar bronzer without a tingle? YES!

Does it hurt like heck! Yes!

So if you are like me and want that dark color but don't want to run around like Ricky Bobby yelling that you are on fire when, actually, you are not, then try this tip...

...Workout directly before tanning! This will do the same thing for your blood flow as a tingle without having to feel the painful effects of a tingle lotion.

So there ya go, now you are skinny and tan! What could be better?

Spring Break is Right Around the Corner!

Where are you guys going for spring break 2011? Somewhere exotic like Fiji or Tahiti? Or are you looking to relax in the warm sunlight by day and party like it's 1999 by night in a spring break palace like Cancun or Cabo San Lucas?

Boy were those the days, no bills to worry about, no big girl jobs to occupy our time from 8-5, just the sun and the sand and a drink in our hand!

Cal Tan's Cypher Optimizer Day #1

Good morning to my loyal Fusion Loves!

Yesterday I got to try out a new lotion that is to hit our shelves on February 1st (get excited!) It is called Cypher Optimizer...

First of all, can we talk about how fabulous this bottle is? The image here just doesn't do it justice. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous. The bottle fades from a deep magenta color to a sparkling light silver. It is incredibly shiny, almost to the point where you feel the bottle start to glow as soon as you reach for it and it touches your hands. As unbelievable as that all sounds, let me tell you what is inside...

Ever walked in and caught your boyfriend glued to the sci-fi channel? Well, I am married to a super nerd so that happens on a regular basis for me, but the contents of this bottle will blow your mind, just as if you (or your man) were watching that science fiction channel. I'm not talking extra terrestrials or anything but it is close.

First imagine you are preparing to lay in our premier bed. You start to smooth this lotion on and instantly it feels like your skin has been utterly quenched and wrapped in a blanket of moisture. When I tried this lotion that is how I felt. I had been working all day at the salon and there was 4 inches of snow on the ground outside, needless to say my skin looked like a piece of parchment paper from the year 1653. But as soon as I put this Cypher Optimizer on, all of my skin's previous imperfections were corrected and it almost looked like a smooth piece of glass. Not to mention the aroma was delightful.

Here is where the sci-fi comes in. I jump into our premier bed (head first, no just kidding) and I lay down preparing to get my T on ( that is the middle tanning stage of GTL of course). I hadn't tanned in a few weeks so some parts of my skin were not as prepared for the UV light as others.

Sci-Fi Time: THIS LOTION WILL SEND INGREDIENTS TO THE AREA THAT IT NOTICES IS BEING OVER EXPOSED OR UNDER EXPOSED AND WILL CORRECT THE ISSUE.

WHAAAA???

Cypher Optimzer can tell when certain areas are not being exposed properly and it will correct the issue. Sci-fi right?

Wrong- it actually has what is called D-Cypher Complex which is the first technology that can mimic the skin's natural functions for significantly increased appearance of melanin production.

On top of that it has what is called In2Cell technology and Cell Speak Complex. This is actually a technology that communicates with your genetic code to explore the causes of aging by targeting one of the principal causes of inflammation for FIRMER MORE RADIANT SKIN.

Needless to say I got the best color I have ever received from one session in a premier bed. I used a peace sign sticker on the inside of my arm (Lady GaGa style of course)...
